Blurigard grimaced, not pleased by the answer. It wasn’t one he had the rights to challenge though. Royce was capable of handling his own decisions and this was another time he had to respect that. Closing his eyes, he exhaled lightly. “Let’s keep the interaction to a minimum. At least until I solve this man’s mystery.” The fight may have ended, but who knew if the war was. One wrong move and hell would break loose. Such was the way of Croix, or so it seemed. Fortunately, he’d be distracted as he walked to pick up his mask. Oh yes… now he remembered why this ball was making his stomach churn. Suddenly his enthusiasm abandoned him. The mask was a simple sort; mostly white with blue and purple symbols and swirls making up its outside. Yet, there was so much behind it… Things he’d rather not think about. Laying it atop his head, he sighed. What a heavy burden it brought.

“Okay, let us make haste. Perhaps I can break this string of lateness I’ve wrought lately.” That hardly mattered at a festivity though, so that barely counted towards it. Walking towards the exit, he’d show them out, if Royce followed. By now he had become accustomed to the manor and had no trouble directing. It was so much like home that navigation was becoming a simple trip down memory lane.

He ventured until coming upon a startling, but expected scene. They hadn’t even been able to walk down more than a hallway and already violence was breaking out… AGAIN. A crash, some shouting, and half the student body had gathered by Shana’s room. Naturally, Blurigard followed suit, hands sunken into his pockets. “An amusement park would have been a better choice… This crowd is anything but dance savvy.” They’d fit in better with monkeys than they would these mannered people. Approaching the once fallen Souijiro, he dusted his fellow student off. A fight was no reason to leave a wrinkle on a shirt! “Misfortune follows your every move. May I ask what’s happening this time?”

Royce nodded in agreement to what the noble asked of him. With no time to waste, the two headed out of their room; Blu lead the way. Just like his mentor, the ninja was fond of cruising with his hands in his pockets, so he did. He didn’t know what to expect of the ball. Normally he has everything planned out strategically unlike most fighters who rely on impulse, but this time he just left things to chance. Then the crash was heard, looks like more trouble. Royce followed Blu to where the sound came from and it seemed it was coming from Shana and Roxanne’s room. The whole school was practically bunched up around there. Maxwell walks ahead of Blu and goes inside the room to see Carla grip Reiayka on her collar and Shana on the floor. “I thought the party was downstairs… Guess I was misinformed.” It was clearly obvious who started all this trouble and if Reiayka was to retaliate, she’d be up against Carla, Blu, Shana, Roxanne, Soujiro, and Royce; she didn’t stand a chance in hell.

The teen walked further into the room and helps Shana up onto her feet, ”You alright?” then he grabs her by the hand and walks her out of the room and into the hallway. Before he completely exited the room, he turned to Carla. “I’m just gonna stay out of this and leave it to you Carla; seems like you have everything under control in here.”

He walks a few feet away from the room, close to the foyer then releases her hand. “Heh, I knew you were a trouble maker.” He’d smile after the comment then get somewhat of a straight face. “But just for your sake, stay away from Reiayka; she is a class A, crazy psycho maniac.” Finally Royce took the time to actually notice her attire, just overall how she looked. The ninja couldn’t help but smile again. She looked amazing and he would let her know. “You know, I thought I was gonna be the most dazzling person at the ball, seems you just proved me wrong.” This next grin would reveal the white of his teeth as he smiled at Shana. Suddenly his attention reverted back to the probable fight that would take place in the room. “I need to stick around here for a bit and have Carla’s back. I promised Blu I’d stay out of trouble but I owe her since she did the same for me when I was up against that warrior student.” Royce wouldn’t actually fight unless Carla was in serious danger and she really needed it, but that was unlikely since she is… well…Carla. Then again, she is up against Reiayka, and she’s a very dangerous threat. In any case, Royce would be spectating; making sure those two don’t bite each other’s heads off.

As annoying as Shana had found Roxie, the roommate was turning out to be good company. "You make sound like I have so many guys. Really I just want to make friends right now. We just started school and last thing I need is an enemy. And what a dumb thing that would be just because I went with one guy to a ball." Then thinking about it, it would be nice to say some guy asked her. The thought did make her feel special. Shana giggled and shook her head some. Honestly she could not help but blush when Roxie said she looked nice in her dress. "I am excited for you, you really seem to be taken by Blu. I am sure it will be a exciting time. And you look wonderful! Are you ready for the ball?"

Shana was about to put on her mask when the crash came from the door. She turned, "What the hell?" Her voice was barely audible. As Reiayka came towards her, Shana tried to understand just what the crazy girl was talking about. Even before Shana could say or do anything, she felt Reiayka's hand was around her neck and she pulled to the ground. Shana kicked at Reiayka some. "ENOUGH! I don't even know what you are talking about!!!!" Shana could feel like fights were childish, but at this moment she was fed up with bullying. Her arm came flying up to try and push Rei off. Even if it did not work, next thing she knew was Rei was being pulled back. Shana could not believe all of the timing, before she even knew it it seemed like most of the students were in the room.

Shana did not fight Royce as he started to take her hand. Getting up, she was pulled to the hallway now and she looked at Royce. "I am fine." For the first time her voice was harsh. It bothered her why she would be the target of all of this. As Royce was complementing her on her dress, Shana was turning back to the room. Shana went to Rei and threw a well aimed punch at the girl's face. "You should learn some manners!! Maybe if you stop being an ass, people will fight with you and not against you!!" There was fire in the blonde's eyes. She was at her wits end with it all. Even with Royce's warning to stay away, she did not care. This had to end.

(I guess I have to roll for that punch.)

This is going to be pretty bad, he just wanted to vanish from the spot as Reiayka shoved him away and went straight for Shana. The next thing he knew Carla, Blu and Royce are all there as well. What do you know, the whole class was joining in the fiasco.

"God... This isn't happening to me. It makes going back to my village a very good idea," he muttered as Blu dusted himself off. "I must agree with that, misfortune seemed to be tied to me from the moment I walked into Croix and met her," he said pointing towards Rei who seemed to be at the receiving end of everyone's angst at the moment. Seemed that everyone was an enemy to her. Despite her hostility and him on the brink of insanity because of her he was still compelled to not feel that pissed towards her once his head has cooled down. He must really be going crazy.

"She's acting strange since after dinner. She was going after me in a non-Reiayka way if you know what I mean. This would sound strange but a minute she was going all cuddly with Elkaine and the next she was flirting with me..." he said to Blu before he went between everyone else feeling responsible for the trouble. He should really leave her to clean up her mess. With Shana and Carla playing on offensive it wouldn't really help cool down the situation. Does he really have to act as a referee? Maybe not but still he cannot just leave the situation as it is and turn a blind eye.

"Sorry about this Shana. I tried to stop her... Carla, please we need to behave so no fighting for the mean time, I know she pisses you off but still we don't need another one. And you..." he turned to Rei knowing that he would take her hate for this later. "I know I shouldn't be saying this but I would feel a lot better if you start acting normal milady," he said as he bowed in front of Reiayka as if asking permission to touch her before he swept her in his arms. Where should he tie her down or bury her? The amusing thought passed his mind but he didn't want to embarrass her and make it worse. Besides, where can he find something stronger than the cuffs in such a short notice? She had the temperance of a shrew but still he couldn't leave her to face everyone though he knew that she can take care of herself and she deserved their wrath.

"Just this one time, please behave yourself... Elkaine wouldn't like this, you need to pay for that door because I sure wouldn't," he said as he looked at the threshold and tried to lead her out. If she tries to manhandle him again he didn't know if he would still want to intervene between her and the class, he didn't even know if him trying to be nice would have any effect on her since kindness doesn't seem to have any effect on her.

Rudely interrupted, Reiayka was spun around with a yank to her dress. The person baring the quick to grab hands was now known, and to her surprise it was Carla. She knew she had a bone to pick with her, but this wasn’t any of her business. Her snout was in the wrong fight, a fight she’d lose. She cupped her fist as a counter, twisting her arm not enough to break her arm, although she deserved it. Her foot would sweep hers and knock her towards the floor. She should play skip it with her body like a little rag doll. “You’ve got some nerve.” She wasn’t in the mood to tango with that girl. But then, ROYCE came in. What the f*ck was going on? Did she ring a bell or something? All fighters in the RING!?? She has body guards now? This was some feat to discover. Sorcerers are now of need of body guards, since they can’t fend for themselves. She knew they were so useless. She released Carla’s arm, her hands to her hips. “Well, well, now. Seems like the helpless damsel in distress has more than one knight.” She grinned, chuckling to herself and waving her hand in a taunting surrender. “All right, all right. I give up. I’ll just have to catch her when she isn’t smothered with so many dicks. Man, you guys can be so annoying.” She turned to Shana, “And let’s get something straight, miss thang, Soujiro is mine. Mitts off, or I’ll chop them off for you if you find yourself...unable to resist.” She sucked her teeth at Shana’s sting, it sounded like chickens pecking at sand anyway. She was far from threatening. Walking over to Soujiro, she wrapped her arms around him, looking over to Shana knowing jealousy would rive her insides. That’s what she wanted, and that soft kiss to wrap it all up before she dragged him to the Ballroom was just icing on the cake.

Once in the ballroom, she turned to Soujiro and tilted her head curiously. “That is no way to dress for a Ball! I hope you brought nice clothes. We can go upstairs and dress you up.” She winked, drawing close to him. “You’d forgive the naughty kitten inside me for tying you up like that. I just, figured you’d go and help your girlfriend. But now, I’m sure you wouldn’t want a girl who needs a swat team to defend herself. That’s just sad.” She turned to the exit, “So, what about that dress up?” He couldn’t deny! She dragged him right back up into his room, and locked his door. She’d help him dress up as quick as she could, not wanting to miss any dance time! Eyes scanning him top and bottom, she jumped up like a giddy five year old when Barney comes on, clapping her hands in approval. “You look, magnetic!” She flashed a cat smile, pressing up against him just to run her fingers through his soft hair. “I bet you’re gonna’ be the sharpest gentlemen! Let’s go!” Back to the Ballroom they went.

Royce had the only puzzled look on his face. Okay, so apparently she was riled up. His kind gesture wouldn’t settle down any of Shana’s tension and the girl completely ignored the boy’s warnings. He whispered to himself. “Waste of breath…” He shook his head a bit. He wasn’t upset though; just a little exasperated at the series of events this Saturday has proven to be thus far. No one deserved his hate, except those two demons. Even when attacked by Lloyd, Royce kept a level head. He didn’t find anyone worthy of putting out so much emotion for, even a negative emotion like animosity.

It may be time for a break. Reiayka walked out with Soujiro so he didn’t need to stick around any longer. Royce walked over to Blu and whispered in his ear. “If you need me, I’ll be on the roof.” He smiled to Blu since his hot date was standing in the room watching all this happen. “Enjoy yourself.” His hands went back into his pockets as he casually walked away from the scene.

His next stop would be out on the balcony. Royce jumped onto the roof of the building and stood there facing the moon’s direction which was south from the mansion before laying down. His fingers were crossed behind his head and one leg crossed over the other leg that’s bent at the knee. The ninja laid there and looked up at the night sky. ”Will this weekend get any better?” A few stars would sparkle which revealed his answer; too bad it wasn’t one he was looking for. He sighed. ”Of course not…”

"Ah well, not really that worth," he said as he chuckled turning to see the girl dressed in blue coat. Her crimson hair was tied back and the mask hid most of her facial features but her blue eyes was as observant as ever.

"Dressed up I see but then I didn't think that you would be wearing something like that. It suits you but isn't it better if you wore something like a gown or dress like your peers," he said as he leaned on the wall. He didn't wear a mask knowing that he would just be there as an overseer and maybe in case an emergency comes up.

"Well, if you don't have a partner maybe you can indulge me for a dance," he amusing her as he could hear the music from the ballroom hall. As enchanting as it seems he think that the night would be interesting he was just not sure if it would be in a pleasant way. It seems that they have started the day in a not so pleasant way. "Why don't we walk out the garden, I think the night is beautiful. The rest of the class must still be getting ready for the ball tonight," he said as he offered his hand to lead her out. The girl seemed to be one of the least rowdy of the bunch.

Hearing Reiayka's words Shana rolled her eyes. She was not a damsel in distress and would love to prove it if she could throw another punch. Yet even in her anger Shana refrained. It was a nice feeling knowing she had people that would come to help her though. Shana would have to get her guard up around this girl. How annoying that someone like this could stay at Criox. No matter, at some point Shana would have to do something, tonight was not the night and not in this place.

"It is fine Soujiro, not your fault." Hearing the motive behind this attack, Shana's eyes widened and her brows rose. "He seems to be all yours..." Shana muttered as Soujiro picked up Reiayka and started to leave. Was Shana upset with that or relieved? Was she really feeling the idea she wished someone was taking her to the ball now? That guy was tough to be dealing with the crazy. Yes something had changed in her at dinner and Shana had a feeling it was what Elkaine put in the drink. There were so many potions in the sorcerer's shop on campus. It was probably some love potion. But Shana said nothing, not even sure if that could be it.

Shana moved to the bed where her mask was and picked it up. Her hand stung some from the punch she threw but she ignored it. She turned just to see Royce leaving. He had been a gentleman and did try to warn her to stay out of it. And she what? Blew him off? She would move her hair around her shoulder and tied on her mask then put her hair over the string. "Thank you Carla." She would smile softly to the ninja and then ducked out of the room trying to get the eyes off of her. Not even sure why, she followed Royce out to the balcony. She knew he came out here, but suddenly did not see him. She turned to look around and then saw him laying on the roof.

"I am sorry back there. I was rude to you." Shana leaned against the railing and sighed. "Honestly, I was angry. This school seems just to have this idea that it is all about the ninjas or the warriors. I just felt.....I feel, like I need to prove myself. It was stupid and I am sorry again." She had felt she owed Royce that. An apology for disregarding his words. Maybe he just wanted time alone and she should leave, For now she turned towards the moon and took in a breath. It was a clear and beautiful night. She smirked inwardly and then without turning to him, she spoke and it was clear it swam with sarcasm, "I guess you are right though. I am a trouble maker."

He hoped that the night would end. If he would just play nice for her to avoid her tantrums things should be fine and people should be safer from her. This would be just like a bad hangover in the morning and he hoped that he wouldn't regret this. At the very least he would survive in the morning.

Before anything else she have to flaunt, kissing him in front of their fellow students. He was at his best behavior not even showing a flinch that every part of his being was aching to do. "Sorry for the mess again. I promise to try to keep her entertained for a while," he knew it would be a tedious task as well. It was embarrassing and he owed everyone an apology specially Shana for falling a victim of Reiayka's fixation at the moment. Whatever she had in her system he hoped it was bound to expire soon. It couldn't have a lasting effect now, could it? Reiayka was never easy to please and keeping her entertained would be no easy task. He hoped that no one would take her statement by heart, the last thing that he would want is to have a girlfriend who was one, a control freak and two who would always want him dead.

"How would I be dressed? If Dante hasn't found me I would have been tied to the bed still..." he said with a frown. He didn't want to remember how Dante's face was, his head was already aching trying to process how he should live through this. "You know I only have all intentions in keeping you company for the night. I wouldn't let you out of my sight even for one moment," he said with a not-so-sweet underlying meaning. He tried to make it sound pleasant though, refraining himself from heaving an exasperated sigh. "I forgive you," he said though he didn't really forgiving her completely for this but that is a start.

When he was dragged back up into his room he was thankful, at least he would have a proper shower before he dressed up for the ball. He did strap his dagger on his back underneath his suit
and his kunais on his legs when he was in the privacy of the bathroom after cleaning himself letting Reiayka help herself with claiming his space in the room. By all rights he should kick her out but that wouldn't help anyone now would it. He tried to look as presentable as possible for her so that she wouldn't have anything to complain about. He didn't even try to argue as long as she's happy the rest of the evening to avoid further disaster and just as long as he wouldn't be strapped again in bed, with those two avoided he should be fine. "You look so beautiful tonight milady," he returned the affection for a moment though he was skeptical that she have a romantic side in her. He was dreading being asked to dance though, as he have said to Blu he never went to anything this fancy to even know the basics of dancing.

So Roxanne was just staring at the mirror and BOOOM! In comes Reiayka trying to kill her roommate. Roxanne’s first reaction was to jump back in shock, but she blinked her eyes a few times and it was all over! Next thing she knew Carla came in and was on top of Rei, Royce walked in and out with Shana, Blu was in front of the door and Soujiro escorted the evil witch out of her room. Shana came in and walked out again which left Carla and Blu who were still here. “Like what the HELL just happened?!?!” She attempted to grasp it all in her head at the moment but it all came and left so quickly. Roxie ran to Blu and leaned on him with both of her hands on his chest. She looked up to him and said. “Blueberry it’s been such a rough day. Take me to the ballroom because I just want to dance and forget about everything that just happened.” Then she looked back in the room and knew she forgot something. Her mask! “Hold on!” She went back in and got her mask. She adjusted it on her face in front of the mirror then walked back out. She past Carla again and turned to her. She didn’t know exactly what happened but she figured Carla was there to help. “Hiya, and thanks for helping my roomie!” She returned to Blu and tangled her arm with his. “You look so appetizing Blueberry Pie, I can’t wait to see your moves on the dance floor. *giggles*Now I’m ready, let’s go.”

Blurigard watched silently as Soujiro carried their less than graceful companion away. What a mess that girl was. That student was brave for trying to deal with that girl. Yes, as brave as he was foolish. The noble shook his head; it was probably a bad idea to be alone with Reiayka like this. It was probably dangerous… Still, the thief just kept his mouth shut as he watched them trail off into the distance. Hopefully they’d both be alive the next time they encountered one another. “Foolish, but admirable. Perhaps he clings to the misfortune subconsciously.” He laughed at the thought.

Alas, Serpens wasn’t given but a moment to reflect until Roxanne graced them all with her presence. Personal space didn’t exist in their world; he smiled plainly. Just retain the pokerface, no one needs to know what you’re thinking. His fate was sealed; Blurigard was going to attend this dance whether he wanted to or not. As his date went to obtain her mask, Royce abandoned them. He waved; it was strange how things had switched. Now he was the one joining the festivity and his friend was going to watch the sky. “Greet the stars for me.”

When Roxanne returned and joined them together at the arms, he couldn’t resist a laugh. This girl’s attitude was so direct; it was rather refreshing in his opinion. “You look absolutely divine.” It was amazing how much could be accomplished in an hour. Lingering here was pointless now, most of the group had left. None seemed to be heading towards the dance though; they’d be one of the earlier parties tonight. “It has been some time since I’ve last danced formally. I’ll try not to disappoint you!” With that, he led them to the ballroom.

He was only there for a minute before hearing someone from a short distance away. The ninja would sit up before seeing that it was Shana who was speaking with him. She apologized for ignoring him earlier, it was understandable. “It’s alright Shana. We naturally say and do things we’d never normally do when we’re mad, that’s why I try not to be. But I do get why you would be upset. If it’s any consolation, I think with practice, the sorcery class can far surpass the warriors or ninjas any day of the week. Heh, one day you’ll be able to manipulate anything you want.” She’d turn around giving him her back as he sat up on the roof and she leaning on the railing. At her sarcastic statement Royce would laugh. “Were there ever any doubts?”

He’d smile a smile that soon dulled into a straight face because he realized something. Past experience made his hesitate a bit, but he thought to himself. “At least I’m already here so I wouldn’t be wasting any time.” Time used for what? Staring at the sky? Sleeping? Probably, but his time to be lazy none-the-less. The teen could take rejection just fine, it’s going out of his way to make an effort then getting rejected which annoyed him a little. Since he was at his desired location anyway, Royce had nothing to lose. “I’d enjoy it if you kept me some company, but you probably have a date for the ball; wouldn’t want to keep him waiting.” He laid his back on the roof once again resuming his previous position. Whether she wanted him to ask her for his escort or not, Royce wouldn’t mind it anymore. After all that has happened today, a rejection would be the least of his problems.
